Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) & Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings Course
Learners will gain practical experience by completing five full property assessments using government-approved EPC software. This practical training is supported by classroom-based study covering energy legislation, construction methods, and data analysis. Throughout the course, learners will compile a professional portfolio containing sample EPCs and written evidence, with most components completed during the training week and a small portion finalised independently afterwards.
Successful completion of the qualification enables candidates to register with an approved accreditation body and operate as certified Domestic Energy Assessors.
For those wishing to work with older or traditionally constructed buildings (typically built before 1919) or listed and protected properties, this course includes the additional qualification is required under PAS 2035: Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings. This specialism provides the expertise needed to improve energy efficiency while preserving the historical character and structural integrity of such properties, ensuring that retrofit work is carried out safely and appropriately for non-standard constructions.
