Overview
Designed for those who are looking to advance their skills and abilities in carpentry and joinery, this Level 3 Technical Diploma is ideal for anyone who has completed a Level 2 course and wants to take their knowledge and experience even further.
You'll focus on a number of core areas including how to effectively carry out first fix flooring and roofing, as well as second fixing operations. You'll also explore second fixing double doors and mouldings and also learn how to use fixed and transportable machinery.
Entry Requirements
You should ideally have previously completed a Level 2 qualification in Carpentry & Joinery to enrol on this course, but we will take into account your previous experience too. You'll be invited to take an initial assessment in English and maths and an interview with us, before we offer you a place on the course.
How will I be assessed
Assessment will be through a mixture of practical task completion to required national standards, assignmment completion and online examinations.
Continuing your journey
Once you have successfully completed this Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry, you'll be able to advance onto further NVQs in the area or widen your skills with a higher-level course such as an HNC in Construction and the Built Environment here at The Manchester College. Learners can choose to progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
