Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems Level 3 near Sheffield
This qualification is for experienced electricians wishing to achieve a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of small-scale grid tied photovoltaic systems. This qualification is based upon the National Occupational Standards as published by industry and is recognised by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join the scheme.

This qualification is designed to provide installers with the knowledge, skills and understanding to install, commission and maintain solar photovoltaic panels and systems. Within the course you will cover:

Solar system design
Solar modules
Solar module mounting structures & arrays
Electrical wiring of the solar system and associated components
Solar modules
Grid-connected solar systems

Practical PV wiring and maintenance sessions

Entry Requirements
A current Level 3 qualification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018, plus a Level 3 qualification in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations.

Assessment
Knowledge Unit: onscreen exams.
Performance Unit: locally assessed, either through practical activities in the workplace or as appropriate; in simulated conditions.

Learners must pass all the assessments to achieve the qualification. The learner must complete the relevant knowledge units prior to the performance units.

Costs
