The course is specifically aimed at existing plumbing and heating engineers, providing the necessary training to upskill existing skills to install heat pumps.
For a limited period, fees are discounted. This is a limited allocation of government discounted training places and special conditions apply.

All learners will be able to take advantage of these purpose-built facilities and gain industry-recognised qualifications upon successful completion. We aim to keep class sizes to under 8 so all learners get an opportunity to practice the skills and knowledge gained during the course prior to being assessed.
Key facts
The sessions cover requirements to size, select, install, commission and handover heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits). The programme is structured to be completed over 3 days: Heat Pump Technology (2 days) and Air Source (1 day). The course material has been designed to meet the requirements of the National Occupational Standards QCF units, Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Installer Standard and the Heat Pump industry/manufacturers criteria for the installation of domestic sized Heat Pumps.
This course is set to take place every month and has minimum and maximum places for each course
Assessment methods
Assessments are open book multi-choice, written response questions and an observed practical.
Entry requirements
The BPEC Heat Pump Systems Installer training course is designed for qualified plumbers, heating engineers, oil or gas engineers who wish to install Heat Pump Systems and already hold a recognised NVQ Level 2/3 or earlier equivalent qualification. In addition, if not included within the formal qualification, the individual MUST hold WRAS Water Regulations (which we can deliver separately or as an additional day to the main course).
