Details
This course is designed for experienced plasterers and electricians to become competent in the Installation and maintenance of the “Energy Carbon” Energy Efficient Heating Systems.

The Energy Carbon infra-red heating was originally developed in partnership with the University of Stuttgart who were charged with trying to create an energy efficient heating system which was effective, easy to install, and completely safe. Using industry waste materials, the University engineered a far infra-red heating system which was sustainable, had great carbon reducing credentials, and produced radiant heat which could travel up to three and a half metres.

The technology has proven popular with homeowners. 100,000 linear metres of carbon fleece far infra-red heating have been fitted to date and when tested, the system has proved to be extremely efficient and a viable alternative to gas and air source heat pumps.

Energy Carbon heating systems can be installed into the ceilings, walls or floor of a room. The super thin design allows fitting behind the plasterboard (DRYTEC) or within the plaster itself (FLEECE). When activated via a Smart phone or wall-mounted thermostat, heat is radiated from the panels to heat up objects in the room directly.

Traditional heating systems work on a convection system where radiators and floors draw cold air from the below, heat it so that it rises to the ceiling, where it cools, falls to the floor and the process continues in a loop. This process has been found to be slow, expensive, and ineffective. Once a door is opened, the heat escapes and the process starts again.

With far infa-red heating, the radiant heat warms objects and people n the room instead of the air itself. This in turn releases additional heat and the room is kept at a far more comfortable temperature in a more natural way.

What qualifications do I need?
Preferably a L1-2 Diploma in Plastering and or Electrical Installations. 18th Edition and Inspection Testing are also desirable. Experience in these sectors will also be considered.

Where will this qualification lead me?
To become a fully competent and recognised installer of Energy Carbon heating systems (Certificated by Energy Carbon and CNWL).
